Inland Electronic Navigational Chart (IENC) program has developed a Chart Discrepancy Reports site for chart end users to report any issues that may exist with published IENCs. Members of the maritime community, recreational boaters, and cooperating government employees are encouraged to establish an account at the Chart Discrepancy Reports site and begin conveying chart information to the IENC team.

Reports Entered Directly in the Production Cycle

This new tool allows IENC production managers to field reports from chart users and push those reported discrepancies directly to data managers responsible for maintaining accuracy in the IENC data.

Electronic Chart Discrepancy Reporting, Not Paper Chart Discrepancy Reporting

'Chart Discrepancy Reports' users are asked to submit reports about existing electronic charts. While many mariners continue to use paper charts on the water, reports about paper charts will not be accepted on the Chart Discrepancy Reports site.

Growing our Partnerships

The Inland Electronic Navigational Chart (IENC) program has relied heavily on its many partners over the years for reliable feedback on the IENC product. Continuing those partnerships is important to the IENC program and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. The IENC program hopes that this new reporting tool will allow for greater numbers of chart users to become involved in making sure our charts are as accurate as they can be.
